The idea for "childrendonate2.org" website came about in 2007 when
one of my step daughters (9 years old) saw that I have built some
websites. I asked her if she would like to help me create one for kids
one day. She thought this was a fun idea.    So we both were going to see
what ideas we can think of. The next day my other step daughter
(7 years old) found some money. We all decided to donate the money to
help others. So we got on the computer and went to a charity site I
know of that helps kids that have been abused and abandoned and their
families. The website is "For the Child" in Long Beach. A wonderful
foundation that helps kids that have been abused and hurt. The girls
were excited that they were a part of helping children who are in a bad
situation.   It made them feel good.   So, we thought what a great idea
to have a site with all sorts of charities that help people and animals
with needs that kids can go to with their parents to help. The name
"childrendonate2" was from the idea that children can donate too, with
their parents on the Internet on a cute website.

Since then we have received wonderful thank you letters from websites
that we have listed on our website. We have received letters and e-
mails from teachers saying they like to use our site in their class room
with their students. We have been listed on government websites and
school district websites.

This site is great for kids and their parents to have family time
together as they help others. It is fun to look at the cute animal
pictures and fun kids websites.   An important thing is our children are
fortunate enough to have computers, cell phones and parents who love
them. They have parents that can provide a home and clothing for them.
It helps keep kids to be grounded when they can understand just how
fortunate they really are by seeing that there are many others that do
not have what they have.
When you donate to any of the charities we have listed with kids they
can feel how good it feels to help the less fortunate.

Kids have so much these days and they are shocked when we tell them
at one time we only had 13 TV channels and we had to get up to change
the channel. We had no cell phones, no microwave and no computers.
And this was a good life for us kids.   We were not lacking.   There are
kids out there that don’t have homes, and parents that love them.
There are kids that don't know what a television or computer is.

Recently the press and celebrities have been speaking strongly against
bullying. We recently added some great websites on anti-bullying.
Bullying in person, in schools, work place and cyber bullying.

We hope it brings great family time to you and your children.   We also
hope that this site can help kids learn just how lucky they are with all
the wonderful things they do have. Also, we hope it helps   parents,
teachers and children finding help if they need it themselves.

As of September 2012, my then 7 yr old step daughter who is now 12
has been diagnosed with bone cancer. I have added a page on this site to
help families with children with cancer in honor of Kate.

Prayers for a complete recovery for Kate.

We hope that this site will bring abundance to all the charities to help
their need.
