Fundraising or fund raising is the process of soliciting and gathering
voluntary contributions as money or other resources, by requesting
donations from individuals, businesses, charitable foundations, or
governmental agencies.
You have a friend or someone in your community who needs money
raised to help them? There are many easy things you can do.
Companies often set something up at their office space inviting
employees and clients to come to the even by just making fliers and
explaining the needs of the person and the date and time. Now it is
just getting the word out to as many people as you can. It is that
easy. Of course the funds coming in depends on how much the people
give. Learn the rules in your community on how and where you can put
fliers. Most places it is illegal to put on cars and mail boxes. So ask
questions so you do things right.
If you are doing a fundraisesr event in a park or out doors, you need to
check with you city to see if you are required to get a permit for your
event. This can cost from $100 to $300, depending on your city
requirements. It can be this easy.
If you contact you local newspaper and letting them know about the
fundraiser and why your are doing it, they will do an article in the local
paper for your event and listing an option for people to donate if they
can not attend, by listing an address or bank account they can send
funds too.
Here are links to a few websites where you can make a fundraiser
page on their fundraising website for Free.
1. Kids go Needs http://www.kidsgotneeds.com Here you can set up
a page to raise funds for something as simple as $500.00 needed for a
child to get new glasses their family can not afford. Or and elderly
person who needs hearing aids they can not pay for, etc.
Check it out.. It is EASY and a great site. Then you can email the link
to everyone you know. Post it on Facebook, Twitter and all you online
sites. (Social Networking sites).
2. Your Cause http://www.yourcause.com Is Always Free to
Non-Proifits and Do Gooders as they put it. You can make you own
cause and list it here as well as you can see places you can volunteer
with.
3. Just Giving http://www.justgiving.com Make a page for a friend or
someone you care about.. and more ideas for fundraising and spreading
the word of your fundraiser pages.
4. Facebook has fundraiser pages and groups you can set up. They have
sponsors that work with you. For example you can do the restaurant
give cards. They have people buy a $50.00 gift card for only $25.00.
Your charity/fundraiser gets a part of that money. And the person
who bought it sees they got $50.00 Value in a gift card for only $25.00
It is a win win.
5. See story of girl who makes bracelets to raise money for children
chairities. Click Here Angelica's Chairity Bracelets as an example of
what you can do on facebook.
Another story on Angelica Click Here in Family News
6. The Caring Bridge http://www.caringbridge.org Here you friend or
family member can set up a page to tell others how they are doing in
their illness or cancer treatments..and others can write to them
special messages. You can also list a link to donate money to help them
and their family.
7. Use your social media web pages to spread the word, email your
friends the links, make fliers and tell people your story to help
another. People have big hearts and those who can give will.
